Introduction
Enabling grassroots sport organizations across Europe to create inclusive spaces in their communities.

Community details
Not everyone in Europe has a safe, inclusive, and accessible place to play. The European Non-Governmental Sports Organisation (ENGSO) aims to change that, improve lives across Europe through sport, and tackle discrimination. ENGSO represents National Sport Confederations, National Olympic and Paralympic Committees and European Sport Organizations from all corners of the continent and works with historically underrepresented groups, including women, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
About the organization
Since its founding in 1966, ENGSO has represented, developed, and advocated for organized grassroots sport. The organization focuses on promoting its values of democracy, equality, inclusion, sustainability, integrity, and education in and through sport, with tackling hate and discrimination on and off the pitch playing a key role in its work. Under the leadership of its Equality Within Sport (EWS) Committee, ENGSO raises awareness of inequities, conducts research, advocates for inclusive policies, creates platforms for knowledge exchange, and works to change narratives. ENGSO helps stakeholders implement concrete action plans to fight discrimination in and through sport to strengthen local communities.

United by Sport
ENGSO raises awareness of hate and discrimination across Europe and enables organizations and changemakers to address specific inequities affecting their communities. By doing so, ENGSO empowers everyone from young leaders to coaches to grassroots sport organizations to build their capacity and play an active role in creating more inclusive spaces.
