Sporting Equals works to uplift ethnically diverse communities throughout the United Kingdom, including the following intersections; women, girls, refugees, asylum seekers, and lower socioeconomic groups. The Sport for Good organization taps into its lived experiences, a network of over 500 ethnically diverse community groups, and collaborates with institutions such as governments, associations, local grassroots clubs, and brands to drive forward systemic sector wide change.
About the organization
Across the United Kingdom, Sporting Equals promotes ethnic diversity across the sports sector and enables people to improve their lives through physical activity. To do so, the organization addresses hate and discrimination from multiple angles. Sporting Equals brings people together through sport, raises awareness on issues affecting ethnically diverse communities, empowers individuals and organizations to drive change, pushes for diversity in decision-making roles, holds leadership accountable, and advocates for policy change. Its work focuses on building individuals' and organizations' capacity, research, advocacy, fund distribution, and delivering community-based interventions.
